कैसेः इस बिजनेस में प्रवेश करने व प्रतिस्पर्धी प्रवेश परीक्षाओं में आवेदन करने के लिए आपको फिजिक्स, कैमेस्ट्री और बायोलॉजी के साथ 10 ़ 2 स्तर की परीक्षा पास करनी होती है। सार्वजनिक और निजी क्षेत्र के कई विश्वविद्यालयों एवं संस्थानों द्वारा अपने स्तर पर प्रवेश परीक्षाओं के आयोजन किए जाते हैं।

बैचलर ऑफ डेंटल साइंस (बीडीएस) डिग्री प्रोग्राम एक पांच साल का कोर्स है जिसके अंतर्गत चार वर्षों की पढ़ाई के बाद एक साल इंटर्नशिप भी करनी होती है। बीडीएस पूरा करने वाले छात्रों के डेंटिस्ट्री प्रेक्टिस के लिए डेंटल काउंसिल ऑफ इंडिया उन्हे पंजीकृत करती है। इस डिग्री को करने के बाद कई ग्रेजुएट्स पर्याप्त अनुभव प्राप्त करने के लिए सरकारी अस्पतालों के विकल्प को चुनते हैं।

केवल बीडीएस की डिग्री इस प्रोफेशन में सफल होने के लिए पर्याप्त नहीं माना जाता है इसलिए आपको मास्टर आफ डेंटल साइंस (एमडीएस) की डिग्री भी प्राप्त करनी चाहिए।
